BBY was long-considered a world leader in wooden boatbuilding, but they had no formal marketing department or processes. The company’s legacy was rich with history, but the website lacked personality and didn’t accurately reflect the quality and authenticity for which BBY is known. We built a new website rich with stories and history that paid adequate homage to both the boats and the people who built and/or designed them. Today, the website still continues to beat its own metrics over and over again. People return to read stories about wooden boats.
Another great success? Waxwing took on the additional responsibility of supporting the Brokerage department by updating its marketing processes- implementing social media, web analytics, and tracking metrics across MLS sites. Within three years, the cost to promote boats has dipped to 20% of what it once was, the number of boats listed has increased by 400%, and BBY is adding a second broker in 2026. Sales in the BBY brokerage department have increased year-over-year without expenses increasing. That’s a win!
